Certified Nursing Assistant

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a healthcare professional who provides basic care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. CNAs assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, and also take vital signs, monitor fluid and food intake and output, and assist with other healthcare tasks as directed by a nurse or physician. To become a CNA, individuals must complete a state-approved training program and pass a certification exam. The certification is typically valid for a certain period of time and must be renewed through continuing education or by retaking the certification exam.
