Objectives Med Tech Objectives Lesson Content 0% Complete 0/12 Steps Upon completion of the training program caregivers should be able to demonstrate the ability to: 1) Understand a prescription label. 2) Provide assistance with oral medication 3) Provide assistance with topical forms of medications, including ophthalmic, otic and nasal forms. 4 ) Measure liquid medications, break scored tablets, and crush tablets as directed by prescription order. 5) Recognize the general side effects to medication classes and the need to report adverse reactions. 6) Recognize the need to seek clarification for “as needed” prescription orders. 7) Develop an understanding of the types of questions to ask a health care provider regarding a resident’s medications. 8) Recognize a medication order which requires judgement and advise the resident, resident’s health care provider, or facility employer of the unlicensed caregiver’s inability to assist in the administration of such orders. 9) Complete a medication observation record 10) Retrieve and store medication Who Should Take The Course?
