The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is a federal agency that promotes and regulates safe and healthy working conditions for employees in the United States (United States Department of Labor, 2016). The agency is part of the Department of Labor, and its goal is to ensure that all workers have a safe and healthy workplace. OSHA accomplishes this by setting and enforcing standards, providing training and education, and conducting research. The agency also provides information and assistance to employers and workers on how to comply with OSHA standards. OSHA is funded by Congress through the Department of Labor’s budget.
